Honorable Mention (Elizabeth O’Connell Thompson) Book Release Party

Take refuge from monsters and shadows this October on Friday the 13th for the launch party of Chicago poet Elizabeth O’Connell-Thompson’s chapbook Honorable Mention (Dancing Girl Press).

Celebrating alongside Elizabeth O’Connell Thompson will be readings from local writers Alison Thumel, Kristy Bowen, John Wawrzaszek and more TBA. There will be goody bags at the door. The event begins at 7pm and is free and open to the public.

Copies of Honorable Mention and specially Risograph printed poetry broadsides from the author will be available for sale with a portion of all sales going to hurricane relief aid.

About the Author: Elizabeth O’Connell Thompson is a Chicago-based poet and photographer with a Masters in English Studies from Trinity College Dublin. As the Literary Coordinator for the CHIPRC she moderates the Wasted Pages Writers Workshop series. Elizabeth is a Poetry Ambassador for the Poetry Foundation.Her writing has been published in Banshee, The Fourth River, and The Best New British and Irish Poets, among others. She is a Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation Youth Poetry Contest Winner and a RHINO Founders’ Prize honorable mention.
